Today is California Against Slavery’s official 2-year birthday! On 9-9-09, Karen and I registered CAS with the IRS and State of California. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves and all of you into! :-) 

It’s been quite a journey that we’re still on. Yes, we could’ve aimed for less. We could’ve treaded lightly. But why?

Human Trafficking Conviction in San Diego

San Diego, August 22, 2011: Charles Duan Hamilton was sentenced by a federal court in San Diego to serve 141 months in custody, plus 10 years of supervised release for one count of sex trafficking of a minor. He was also ordered by pay $3,200.07 in restitution to the victim.

Hamilton admitted that he recruited and transported a 16 year old female for prostitution in San Diego County and other places. He was arrested in Seattle, Washington.
